Patience Nichols

     Patience was born on Monday, 2 February 1660 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Isaac and Margaret Nichols. Patience was first married to John Hubbell. Patience married 2nd Samuel Hawley, son of Lieut. Joseph Hawley and Katherine Birdseye, in 1691 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.¹ Joseph & Patience had children: Ephraim [circa 1691-1771][m. 10/05/1711 Phebe Curtis], Katherine [circa 1695- 2/02/1696], Stephen [circa 1697-1790][m. 7/21/1720 Mary DeForest], Benjamin [circa 1699-5/08/1765][m. 2/18/1725 Mary Nichols & 2nd Experience Dibble] & Nathaniel [circa 1702-1/07/1754][m. 12/12/1723 Mary Ufford]. Patience's husband, Samuel, died on 24 August 1734 in Stratford leaving her a widow. Patience departed this life on Saturday, 29 September 1753 in Stratford at age 93 years, 7 months and 27 days.
