     Thomas was born circa 1562 in Thorton-in-Bradfordale, Yorkshire, England. During the Michaelmas Term of 1585, his brothers, Christopher & John, obtained one messauge with lands from Thomas.2 Thomas married Agnes (?) circa 1586 in Yorkshire, England. Susanna may be a daughter. Susannah Mitchell, born Bradford, married 27 September 1625 at Bradford, Thomas Armitage. They immigrated to New England on the "James" along with their son, Matthew Mitchell. During the Hilary Term of 1602, Abraham Sutcliffe & John Whitly obtained from Thomas & his wife, Agnes, one messuage with land at Thorton-in-Bradfordale. This was reaffirmed during Easter Term of 1610 when Abraham Sutcliffe, John Whitly, John Pearson & William Stevenson obtained from Thomas Mitchell, his wife, Agnes, John Mitchell & Matthew Mitchell one messuage and lands in Thorton-in-Bradfordale.3 Thomas departed this life before the Easter Term of 1614 in Yorkshire, England. During the Easter Term of 1614, his brother, Christopher, is on record having relinquished some land. It was noted on this record that both his father & his brother, Thomas, were deceased.
