Mehitable Grannis1

Mehitable was born circa 1666 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Edward Grannis and Hannah Wakefield. She was often referred to as Mable. Mable married John Johnson, son of John Johnson and Hannah Parmelie, on 2 March 1684/85 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.2,3 Mehitable's husband, John, died in 1712 in New Haven leaving her a widow. Mehitable departed this life on Thursday, 9 December 1745 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.
