Marytje Vredenburgh

     Marytje was born in New York City, New York County, New York. She went by the name Maria. She was christened there on 3 November 1669 in the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church. The witnesses were Philip Janszen & Aechtje Laurens.¹ She was the daughter of Willem Isaacsen Van Vredenburgh and Appolona Barrentszen Cool. She was often referred to as Maria. Marytje married Jan Hendrickson Kortwright on 3 November 1700 in Kingston, Ulster County, New York, at the Reformed Dutch Church.² She died sometime after the birth of her last child on the 11th of September 1709 and her husband's remarriage in 1711.
