Peter Titus1,2

M, b. August 1674, d. 23 December 1753
     Peter was born the 6th month 1674 at Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York.3 He was the son of Edmund Titus and Martha Washbourne. Peter married Martha Jackson, daughter of Colonel John Jackson and Elizabeth Seaman, circa 1702 in Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Peter was living with his parents on the census of 1698. Peter made his will on 18 October 1753.

Whereas, I Peter Titus, of the Town of Hempstead . . . He leaves household goods and live stock to his wife, Martha. He also directs his son, Robert to provide for her comfortable maintenance. His lands are given to his three sons Peter, Robert & Richard. After his legacies are applied the remainder of his estate was to be divided among his children: Peter, Robert, Richard and Elizabeth Townsend. His sons were appointed as executors. Witnesses: Charles Peters, John Treadwell & Benjamin Smith.

Peter departed this life the 23rd day od the 10th month 1753 in the Town of Hempstead. His will was probated on 5 February 1754.
