Captain James Olmsted1

M, b. 17 April 1645, d. before 12 June 1731
     James was born on Monday, 17 April 1645 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. He was the son of Richard Olmsted II and Elizabeth Hawes. James married Phebe Barlow on 1 May 1673 in Connecticut. James & Phebe had children: James [4/17/1675-d.y.], Joseph [3/10/1677-1748][m. Mehitable Warner], Nathan [4/27/1678-1716][m. 12/07/1702 Sarah Keeler & 2nd ca. 1706 Mercy Comstock], Samuel [5/13/1683-d.y.] & John [8/14/1692-1748][m. 2/29/1718 Mary Small].2 James's wife, Phebe, died on 5 February 1727 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower.3 James made his will on 28 April 1731 at Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He mentions Joseph, John & third son, Nathan, deceased. Nathan had had his portion.4 James departed this life in Norwalk. His will was probated on 12 June 1731.
