     Hazel was born on Sunday, 3 April 1892 at Van Wert County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Waldo W. & Magdalena [Johnson] Gipe. Hazel married an unknown person , son of Joseph Donald McCurdy and Dorothea A. Vought, on 10 June 1915 at Van Wert County, Ohio. 9 April 1930, Hazel and her husband William were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Lima Township, Allen County, Ohio. Enumerated in this household were W. Arthur McCurdy [43 Ohio], Hazel A. [37 Ohio], Helen B. [16 Ohio], Richard A. [11 Ohio]. He was 24 years old when he was first married & she was 23 years old.1 Hazel departed this life on Friday, 18 August 1989 at Leesburg, Loudoun Coumty, Virginia, at age 97 years, 4 months and 15 days.

     Word has been received of the death Friday in Leesburg, Va., of former Lima resident Hazel A. McCurdy, 97. Among survivors are one son, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, Va. [Lima News - 20 August 1989]

Hazel was laid to rest on 21 August 1989 in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, Fairfax County, Virginia.
