Enumerated in this household were James J. Seaman [46 New York], Ellen O. [44 West Indies], Alice [21 New York], James V. [19 New York], Mariana [15 New York], Kate [13 New York], William R. [7 New York], brother-in-law: William F. Robertson [46 Pennsylvania] & Frank Gillihan [25 New York]. James is an inspector for public works, William F. is a bookkeeper & Frank is a clerk in an insurance office.³ 2 June 1900, Ellenand her husband, James were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Bronx, New York City, Westchester County, New York, at 1973 Arthur Avenue. Enumerated in this household were James Seamon [68 New York - August 1831], Helen [63 Jamaica - April 1837], William B. [26 New York - November 1873], Marian [33 New York - December 1866], brother-in-law: William Roberson [65 Pennsylvania - December 1834]. James and Ellen have been married 45 years; William has been married 35 years. Ellen immigrated in 1850 and has been in the United States for 50 years. Ellen has her own income Mariana & William are bank clerks.⁵ Ellen departed this life on Tuesday, 8 October 1912 in Manhattan at age 76 years, 6 months and 4 days.⁶ She was buried in Valhalla, Westchester County, New York, in Kensico Cemetery. The inscription of her tombstone reads: Ellen Robertson Seaman - Apr. 4, 1836 - Oct. 8, 1912.⁷
