Augustus E. Tabor of New York

     Augustus was born in 1826 at Massachusetts. Augustus married Anna Haviland Ferris, daughter of John Haviland Ferris and Jane W. Underhill, on 15 May 1851. 16 June 1880, Augustus and his wife, Anna, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in the town of Westchester. Enumerated in this household were Augustus Tabor [54 Massachusetts], Anna F [53 New York], Cornelia [22 New York], son-in-law: Edward Parsons [29 New York], daughter: Mary T [28 New York], grand daughter: Edith A Parsons [1 New York], servants: Alice Frankison [35 New York] & Amelia Clark [35 England]. Augustus is a marble merchant and Edward works in a nursery.¹ Between 1883 and 1896, immigrated probably with Mary’s parents to settle in California. Augustus departed this life on Wednesday, 6 April 1898 in Saratoga, Santa Clara County, California, at age 72 years. He was buried at Saratoga in Woodlawn Cemetery.
