John Haviland Ferris

     John was born the 17th day of the eleventh month 1799 at "Grove Farm", Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York. John married Jane W. Underhill the 8th day of the sixth month 1825 at the New York Monthly Meeting, New York. 18 November 1850, John and his wife, Jane, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in the town of Westchester. Enumerated in this household were John H Ferris [50 New York], Jane A [48 New York], Anna H [21 New York], Elizabeth Quin [26 Ireland], Peter Smith [33 Ireland] & John H Ferris [20 New York].² John died the 4th day of the nineth month 1862 at Throgs Neck, the town of Westchester at age 62 years, 9 months and 18 days.
