Caroline Murray

     Caroline was born on Sunday, 11 April 1813 at Cliff Street, City, County & State of New York. She was the daughter of Robert I. Murray & Elizabeth Colden of New York. Caroline married Lindley M. Ferris, son of Elijah Ferris and Amelia Livingston, on 31 May 1836 in New York at the New York Monthly Meeting.¹ 17 September 1850, Lindley and Caroline was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Montgomery, Orange County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Lindley M. Ferris [39 New York farmer], Caroline [37 New York], Lindley M. [12 New York]. Robert M. [9 New York], Gertrude [6 New York], Caroline [1 New York].² Caroline departed this life on Saturday, 30 October 1852 in Montgomery at age 39 years, 6 months and 19 days. She was buried in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.³
