Francoise Marien

     Francoise was born on Thursday, 7 October 1677 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Louis Marrien & Francoise Philppeaux. She was christened there on 8 October 1677 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ She was the widow of Sebastien Grenet who died 13 November 1698. Francoise married 2nd Nicolas Rivard dit Lavigne, son of Nicolas Rivard dit Lavigne and Catherine St-Pere, on 27 June 1709 in ville de Quebec at the Basilica of Notre Dame.² Nicolas & Francoise had children: Marie Madeleine [10/__/1709-1/16/1767][m. 8/10/1734 Jean Francois Cadot & 2nd 1/31/1745 Pierre Dubois], Francois-Xavier [6/28/1712-2/13/1779][m. 10/10/1740 Therese Papilleau], Marie Catherine [5/14/1714-8/16/1788][m. 11/10/1738 Francois-Nicolas Herbec & 2nd 8/03/1769 Charles Deeve] & Marie Francoise [7/01/1716-4/10/1781].³ Francoise's husband, Nicolas, died circa 2 December 1719 in Batiscan, leaving her a widow. Francoise departed this life in Batiscan, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. She was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Genevieve on Friday, 15 August 1749.⁴
