Jabez married Mary Corwin, daughter of John Corwin I and Mary Glover, in 1685 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.7 1686, Jabez waslisted on the Southold Town Census. Enumerated in this household were Jabish Mapes [1200].8

Jabez married 2nd Elizabeth Roe circa 1691. 1698, Jabez and Elizabeth and his wife, [ROF:Southold Town] werelisted on the Southold Town Census. Enumerated in this household were Jabez Mapes, Eliza, Sarah, Eliza Junjr, Hannah, & Ealse.9,2 Jabez's wife, Elizabeth, died on 15 April 1717 in Mattituck in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, leaving him a widower.10 Jabez married 3rd Hannah (?) on 25 May 1717 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. [The marriage contract] Hannah was noted as a widow. He made his will 20 February 1729 at the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He mentioned his wife, Hannah; only son, Joseph Mapes; Daughters: Sarah Beers. wife of John Beers, first daughter; Elizabeth Bayley, wife of Elias Bayley, second daughter; Mary Goldsmith, wife of Joseph Goldsmith; Abiah Mapes; Bethiah Mape; grand children: Hannah & Ziba Osman.

- [S428] Lester Dunbar Mapes, A Tentative Correction of the Mapes Family Line, page 9 - (4) JAPEZ2 Mapes, third son of Thomas1 Mapes and Sarah. Purrier, was born about 1664 and died Jan. 26, 1732/33, when 68 years old (REF. 12 and 13). He married three times and had at least three sons and several daughters, but two of the sons, Jabez3, Jr., and Thomas, died in 1716 and 1716//17 respectively (.REF. 12), leaving Joseph3, whom his father terms 'my only son" in his will.
The first wife of Jabez2 was Mary Corwin, a daughter of John Corwin, Senior, of Southold. She was the mother of Jabez' oldest daughter Sarah. His second wife was Elizabeth Roe, daughter of John Roe of Brookhaven, whose will of Aug. 22, 1712,'probated July 27, 1714 (REF. 4, VOL. II, Page 25) names her "Elizabeth Mapes". She died Apr. 15, 1717.(REF. 12) and he married widow Hannah Case, apparently in May 1717 (REF. 11), following a marriage agreement with her dated May 25, 1717, which agreement Jabez mentioned in his will.
