     Robert was born before 28 December 1647 in Springthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. His father wrote a codicil to his will on the day he was born to grant him his inheritance. His father died days later.1 On 28 December 1647, he was christened in East Retford, Nottinghamshire, England.2 Robert came over to New England about 1672 with his brother, John.
