John Lowell

M, b. before 18 March 1631/32, d. 7 June 1694
     John was born in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. He was the son of John & Mary Lowell. He was christened there on 18 March 1632 in All Saints Church. He married first on 3 Jan 1653, Hannah Proctor. John married 2nd Naomi Torrey, daughter of William Torrey and Elizabeth Fry, circa 1664.1,2 John & Naomi had children: Ruth [7/11/1665], Margaret [10/20/1666], Samuel [8/01/1669- d. y.], Samuel [1/30/1671], William [8/09/1672], Elizabeth [3/01/1674], Ebenezer [1675][m. 1/20/1694 Elizaberth Shaler], Williiam [1/03/1676], Mehitable [1/07/1677], Benjamin [11/05/1679] & Nathaniel [2/28/1681].3 In early 1680, the couple lost their home in Boston by fire. In March of the same year, Naomi's brother, Josiah, bought the land from them where the house had stood.4 John departed this life on Monday, 7 June 1694 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.5
