Henry Lederach1

M, b. 1710, d. 14 December 1799
Henry was born in 1710 in Germany. He was the son of Andrew and Madalena Lederach.2 Henry married Catherine Clymer, daughter of Heinrich Clemmer and Anna Maria Bitzer, circa 1759 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Henry and Catherine had children: Molly [m. Joseph Tyson], Magdalena [m. Henry Price], Elizabeth [2/26/1763-3/26/1829][m. Jacob Clemens], Henry [1/08/1766-9/04/1841][m. Anna Alderfer], Catherine [9/04/1769-7/02/1840][m. Andrew Zigler], Anna [m. Abraham Shutt] & John [1/23/1775-11/07/1848][m. Maria [Kolb] Yoder & 2nd Mary Clemmer]. Henry's wife, Catherine, died in 1776 in Lower Salford Township leaving him a widower. Henry made his will on 24 September 1799.

He left to the Lower Salford Mennonite Meeting House 10 pounds to be used for the poor of the congregation. To his son John he left the plantation which consisted of one hundred and thirty-two acres, all of the original acreage bought by his grandfather. To John he also left the large family Bible, originally belonging to Andrew Lederach (John's) Grandfather. In his will, Henry named his children in order of age: Molly (Mally), Magdalena, Elizabeth, Henry, Catherine, Ann, and John. His account book follows the same order and therefore, since the first payment went to Joseph Tyson, it can be surmised that he was the husband of Molly. The second name in the account is Henry Price who is definitely known to be the husband of Magdalena. assuming this order what follows is Jacob Clemens, husband of Elizabeth, Andrew Zigler (also a certainy) and Abraham Shutt or Shott husband of Anna.
He named as executors his son John and son-in-law, Abraham Shott. The will was witnessed by Godshalk Godshalk and Jacob Ziegler.

Henry departed this life on Saturday, 14 December 1799 in Lower Salford Township at age 89 years. He was buried there at Lower Salford Township in the Lederach Burial Ground. The inventory of Henry's estate was taken by Godshalk Godshalk and Jacob Ziegler and was valued at £345, 17s, 19d. His will was probated on 1 January 1800.
