Gilles Lauzon

Gilles was born circa 1631 in St-Julien, Calvados, Normandy, France. He was the son of Pierre Lauzon & Anne Boivin.1 He was one of the men recruited for the voyage to Ville-Marie in 1653. Enumerated in this household were Gilles [40 years], Marie Archambault [37 years], Seraphin [13 years], Lousie [11 years], Michel [8 years], Paul [6 years], Madeleine [4 years] & Anne [2 years]. Gilles's wife, Marie-Francoise, died on 8 August 1685 in Montreal leaving him a widower. Gilles departed this life in Montreal. He was buried there in the cemetery of Notre Dame on Sunday, 21 September 1687.6
