He was buried there in the Old Congregational Church Burying Ground. The inscription on his tombstone reads; Here lyes the body of Capt. James Judson, Esquire who dyed Feby ye 25th, 1721 Aged 71 years. The inventory of James's estate was taken on Friday, 7 March 1721. Mrs Anne Judson agrees with his heirs as to what she should receive. His will was probated on 20 April 1721.
