Ealred was born circa 1008 in Bernicia, Northumbria, England. After the killing of his father & uncle, he became Earl of Bernicia in 1019 until 1038. He killed Thurbrand, his father's murder & was, in turn, killed circa 1038 by Thurbrand's son, Carl.
