James Jackson

     James was born in May 1841 in Ontario, Canada. James married Elizabeth Colton, daughter of Thomas Bethel Colton and Eliza Chester, on 3 September 1866 in the Village of Bronte, Trafalgar Township. Jim & Eliza had 14 children: William Thomas [1868] [m. 7/29/1905 Ester Ada Iler] James [3/02/1870->1/03/1931], Joseph Chester [12/24/1871], Daniel Wesley [1/27/1873-12 apr 1918-1919] [m. Agnes Bailey], Anna Margaret [9/06/1877][m. Mr. Hill], John Edward [9/19/1880-3/12/1881], Arthur Paul [6/16/1882], Charles Godfrey [8/14/1884-1911], Eliza Jane [1/08/1887-7/18/1888], Richard Peter [4/04/1889-<6/01/1900], John Alexander [3/04/1891-1/04/1892] and 3 other children. They had been married 33 years with 14 children, 6 living. They immigrated in 1896.⁶ In July 1907, their son, Charles, crossed the border from Canada to Detroit.
