     Samuel was born circa 1643 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. Samuel married Hannah Holly on 16 November 1671.


The family lived in Stamford, Connecticut. Samuel married 2nd Rebecca (?) after 7 December 1710. Samuel made his will in 1714 at Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Know all whom it may concern that I Samuell Hait Senr of Stamford in the County of Fairfield and Colony of Connecticutt being now aged and feeble of body & not knowing how soon it may be gods holy pleasure to bring a change on me by death or by deprivation of reason understanding and memory all which through the Lords great mercy and goodness I do now enjoye and at this present am continued in the full and free use there-of I being throughly persuaded that it is my duty to set my house in order before I dye I do therefore with deliberate & mature thoughts and consideration make this my last Will and hereby renounceing all other former will or Wills of date before this present And first I do att the call of god freely againe resigne my precious immortall Soul into his hands who gave it through the merits and intersession of Jesus christ my mercyfuIl redeemer hoping for a glorious resurrection and an heavenly inheritance among them that are Sanctifyed and my body to the earth from whence it was taken by desent buriall at the discretion of my executor hereafter named there to remain untill the resurrection of the Just and as for what of worldly substance or estate it hath pleased god to betrust me with I do Will and dispose of the same as followeth Impmis to say after my funerall Charges & all other my Just debts be payd : first I give unto the children of my beloved and deceased son Samuell Hait as in adition to what I formerly gave to my sd son Samll by deeds or otherways I say unto Samuell the son ,of my said son I give an acre of land att Westcots so called bounded by'A brook East and by land of John Cressy and by my own land North and by A highway South also one piece of land att sd Westcots be it in quantity more or les as it is bounded east by land of John Cressey west by A brook South by a highway North by land of Haits and land belonging to John Bell also twenty acres of land att Heagqueth as it is so called lying att the North end of my land which is the North boundary and bounded East by A highway and West by A highway and South by my own land also I give unto my said son Samuell Haits son Samuell the fifth part of all my right in all lands lying in Commonage or unlaid out and undivided in the bounds of said Stanford whether sequest or others also I give unto him one bible Lly I do give unto my well beloved son John Hait as an addition to what I have formerly given unto him by deed and other wise namely one acre of meadow in Shaw Swamp also half an acre of meadow in the East field bounded West by Joshua Haits lands East by John Holly North by Samuell Blatchly his land South by greens meadow or cart path also the one fourth part of the Land in my close att Westcots the whole tract is bounded East by A brook west by Land which I have given unto Samuell Hait North by Encrease Holly South by land of John Cressey and Samuell Hafts land also one fourth part of my land in the horse pasture as it is so called the whole being in quantity and bounded as the Record sheweth. also one halfe a piece of Land att heagweth lying North of Joseph and Nathan Haits land bounded West by an highway and East by an highway or brook runnig North untill it cometh unto the twenty acres which I have given unto my grandson Samuell Hait also one fifth part 9f all my right in the Sequest land and in all other lands lying within the bounds of Stanford unlaid out I do give unto my well beloved son Jonathan Hait as an addition to what I have formerly given to him by deeds or otherwise one fourth part of my close att Westcots also one quarter part of my land att in the hors-pasture also one halfe of the the land att heagweek lying North of Joseph and Nathans land as is above discribed in Johns part in said land also one fifth part of all my lands lying in Commonage and yet not laid out as Se-quest or others in which I have right unto also I do give unto him my said son Jonathan that bed which [he] hath with all furniture as may appear upon my book to belong to said bed
4'y I do give unto my well beloved son Joseph Halt as an addition to what I have already given unto him by deed or otherwise one fourth part of my close at W estcots and fourth part of my land in the horse pasture also one fifth part in my right in the Sequest lands & in all my undivided Lands also that bed whereon I lye after my decease I do give unto him with the bedstead and furniture which belongeth to the same according as upon my book may appear
51Y I do give unto my well beloved son Nathan Holly * in addition to what I have already given him by deeds or otherwise my homelott and house and all the building thereon besides that part mentioned in his deeds of gift also one quarter part of my close at Westcots and also one fourth part of my land in the horse pasture also one fifth part in my right in the Sequest Land and in all other of my-undivided lands in Stanford also I do give him the bed which he lyeth on with all such furniture as by my book appeareth to belong thereto
617 I do will and bequeath all the over pluss 'of meadow yet remaining unto me besides what I have given unto my three sons namely Jonathan Joseph and Nathan Hait I say to be Equally divided among them to witt that-mead in the reed pond att Shiphand and as- for all the remainder of my Estate not otherwise disposed of which is not in the particulars thereof mentioned in deeds of gift or noted down in my book as before -given or mentioned above in this paper which I shall dye possessed of after my Just debts as is above expresed be payd my Will is that the same and the whole thereof be divided among my four sons to say John Jonathan Joseph and Nathan Hait to each of them an equall proportion
Ty I do constitute appoint and Impower my well beloved son John Hait my whole and sole Executor to see this my last will and testament settled approved on all and singular the perticulars therein mentioned and [for] his Encouragement thereto I do give unto my said son John out of my Estate reasonable satisfaction and now all my dear children unto whom I in conscience of my duty from A principle of fatherly affection I have endeavoured and that with A regard had unto equality and for the prevention of their dissatisfaction among you concerning my Estate I have according to-my best understanding endeavoured that each of you should be suted ;and accomodated as well for the best conveniences as far as my small ability will allow, but may not Pretend unto such perfection as not to have missed of my aim herein altho perhaps you find in some particulars that your Expectation is not so answered as might have been yet what is done it being according to my best skill your duty is to accept thereof and to rest satisfied in your fathers pleasure herein and I leave this with you all my dear children as my solemn charge that you do not contend one with another about the Estate or any other matters but each and all of you endeavour always that love peace and good agreement maintained be alway among you as becometh brethren and may the god of peace dwell with you amen

Samuel married 3rd Hannah Slawson on 20 September 1714 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Hannah was the widow of John Gold.
Samuel departed this life on Sunday, 7 April 1720 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. His inventory was dated the 7th of June & was presented the 29th of June 1720, amounting to over £300. His will was probated on 20 June 1720.
