     Eli Peirpoint was born on Tuesday, 8 March 1785 in Broad Run, Frederick County, Maryland. He was the son of Caleb Touchstone House & Sarah Peirpoint.2 Eli was first married 2 April 1812 to Mary Howard. He and Mary had children: Elizabeth H. [31 May 1813], William [4/22/1814], and Eli C. [10/22/1815-3/18/1882][m. 1848 Sarah A. Pierpoint & 2nd 1859 Mary Jane]. Eli married 2nd Rutha Lucinda Ridgely, daughter of Jacob Ridgely and Ruth Thrasher, on 26 October 1816 in Frederick County, Maryland. Eli & Rutha had children: Martha R. [8/10/1817], Sarah Ann [4/17/1819-8/28/1890][m. John Hanson Renn], Rutha R. [12/25/1820], Mary Ann R. [7/27/1823]. 25 September 1850, Eli and his wife, Rutha, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Peterville District, Frederick County, Maryland. Enumerated in this household were Eli P. Housse [64 Maryland] & his wife: Lucinda [64 Maryland].3 5 June 1860, Eli and his wife, Rutha, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Peterville District. Enumerated in this household were Eli P. House [76 Maryland], Ruth [78 Maryland] & Matilda [24 Maryland]. Eli is a master farmer. He has a farm valued at $7000 and personal property valued at $1200.4 Eli's wife, Rutha, died on 28 August 1863 in Peterville District leaving him a widower. Eli departed this life on Saturday, 4 April 1868 in Peterville District at age 83 years and 27 days. He was buried there at Peterville District in the Jefferson Methodist Cemetery. The inscrption on his tombstone reads: In memory of Eli P. House - Born March 8th 1785 - Died April 4 1868 - Aged 83 years & 26 Days.5
