Thomas was born in 1605 in England.4 On 20 March 1630, Thomas left from Plymouth, Devonshire aboard the ship, "Mary and John", charted by Captain Squeb, bound for New England. He was part of the "Godly Company". Listed among the passengers was Thomas Holcomb aged 25 years. They arrived at Nantasket harbor, after a 70 day voyage, on the 30th of May..4 Thomas married Eliabeth (?) circa 1633. He first settled in what they named Dorchester where he was made freeman on 14 May 1634. In 1636, he removed to Windsor, Connecticut. In 1639, he moved a short distance to Poquonock where he took up farming.4 Thomas departed this life on Friday, 7 September 1657 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. He was buried.5 The inventory of Thomas's estate was taken on Monday, 1 October 1657. It was valued at 244 pounds, 9 shillings & 8 pence. It was divided up between his widow, Elizabeth 42 pounds 18 shllings; Joshua age 17 years 42 pounds 18 shillings; Benjah age 13 years 33 pounds 17 shillings; Nathaniel age 9 years 28 oiybds 12 shillings; Abigail age 19 years 28 pounds 12 shillings; & Deborah 6 years 7 months 28 pounds 12 shillings.5,6
