Rodolph was born on Wednesday, 14 June 1634 in Mortagne-au-Perche, Orne, Normandy, France. He was christened on the same day there in St-Jean Church.1 He was probably the son of Thomas that was noted as having died in March of 1649.2

This son must have been Rodolphe, then about fifteen years old.
