Olive Harmon

     Olive was born circa 1548 in Sanderstead Court, County Surrey, England. She was the daughter and heiress of James Harman who, along with others of the family, were members of the Royal Family staff. Olive married Nicholas Atwood, son of John Hewson Atwood and Margaret (?), on 30 January 1569 in Westminister, London, County Middlesex, England, at St. Martin's-in-the-Field.1 Olive's husband, Nicholas, died on 10 May 1586 in Sanderstead Court leaving her a widow. Olive married 2nd William Marleville in 1590 in Westminister, London at St. Martin's-in-the-Field. Olive's husband, William, died in England, leaving her a widow.1 Olive married 3rd John Buck after 1590 in England.2 Olive departed this life in 1603 in Elstree, Herefordshire, England. She was buried there in the parish church of Elstree.3

    “Behold and know how heaven is repossest
    Of her sweet soul,
    Whose corps interred doth rest
    Near to this place.”
    The last lines restore the corps to the soul:
    “Dignified, glorified, eternized;
    Sauctified at last, as first baptized.”.
