Caroline Harbaugh

     Caroline was born on Monday, 20 August 1838 in Ohio. She was the daughter of George Harbough & Barbara Weaver.. Caroline married Daniel Bowerman, son of Peter Bowerman and Nancy Anna Shaffstall, on 1 January 1857 in Crawford County, Ohio.¹ Daniel & Caroline had children: Barbara Ann [11/01/1857-8/03/1935][m. 7/22/1875 Frank Bressler], John Henry [7/__/1860-3/25/1935][m. 5/16/1891 Clara Bell "Birdie" Chilson], Christna J. Enumerated in this household were Daniel Bowerman [40 Pennsylvania], his wife: Caroline [32 Onio], children: Barbara [12 Ohio], John [10 Indiana], Tina J. [8 Indiana], & Hattie [2 Indiana].³ 18 June 1880, Caroline and her husband, Daniel, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in OronoKo Township, Berrien County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Daniel Bowerman [50 Pennsylvania], his wife: Caroline [42 Ohio], children: John H. [20 Indiana], Jessie J. [18 Indiana], Hattie L. [11 Indiana], Freeman D. [8 Indiana], Catie E. [4 Indiana], & George W. [2 Michigan].⁴ 9 June 1900, Caroline and her husband, Daniel, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Center Township, Marshall County, Indiana. Enumerated in this household were Daniel Bowerman [Mar 1830 - 70 Pennsylvania], his wife: Caroline [Aug 1838 - 61 Ohio], children: George W. [Jul 1878 - 21 Michigan], & Fred [May 1889 - 11 Michigan]. They had been married 43 years with 7 children, all living. He was a farmer.⁵ Caroline died on Saturday, 2 March 1907 in Niles, Berrien County, Michigan, at age 68 years, 6 months and 10 days of pulmonary tuberculosis.^6,7 She was buried there in Silver Brook Cemetery on Monday, 4 March 1907.⁷
