Andrew Hamilton

M, b. circa 1655, d. before 24 June 1719
     Andrew was born circa 1655 in Scotland. He was the son of Gavin and Elizabeth Hamilton. Andrew married Mary Beall, daughter of Ninean Beall and Lady Ruth Moore, circa 1700 in Prince George County, Maryland. Andrew and mary had children: Gavin [11/04/1701], Mary [11/24/1705], Thomas [5/21/1710-3/06/1784], George [1713-6/24/1752], Andrew [1716] & Ninian [1719-12/14/1784]. Andrew made his will on 23 October 1718.

In the name of God Amen – I Andrew Hamilton of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland being sick & Weak of Body but of Sound & perfect Memory do by these Present Revoke and make Void all former Wills by me made and Constitute ordain and my Redeemer by whose Blessed merits I hope for a free & perfect Pardon of all my Sins – Item I will that all my Just Debts is first and Honestly Discharged paid By my Executrix hereafter na-amed – Item I will that all my Lands be equally divided amongst my Children that I now have & the Child my wife now bears to be Divided at the Discretion of my Good friends James Stoddert & Thomas Addison Esq. and their Division under their hands & Seals or Either of their hands & Seals to be final to all intents & purposes first Reserving to my wife her third part of my Said Real Estate during her Life to be laid out as aforesaid the which lands divided as aforesaid I give & bequeath to my Severall Children & their heirs for ever – Item My Will is that after my Just Debts & funeral Charges is paid that my personal Estate be Divided as aforesaid by the Persons aforenamed – Lastly I hereby Constitute & appoint my Loving Wife Mary Hamilton my Sole Executrix of this my Last will & testament Desiring & Requiring Earnstly in all her affairs of Moment in the Execution of this My Will to take the Advice of my friends James Stoddert & Thomas Addison in Testimony whereof I have Set my hand & fixed my seal this twenty third day of October Anno Dom. 1718.
