Jean Hamel

     Jean was born in 1652 in Tourouvre, Orne, Normandy, France. He was the son of Charles Hamel & Judith Auvray. He was christened there in St-Aubin Church.¹ A contract for the marriage of Jean and Christine-Charlotte Gaudry dit Borbonniere was signed on 16 February 1677. The notary Gilles Ragot wrote the contract at Cote-St-Michel which states that Jean's parents are Charles Hamel & Judith Auray.
