He an annual rent of three pounds until 1785 when he bought the land from the State of New York for 988 pounds. Phillipse has lost the land by forfiture due to his allegiance to the crown. The point of junction of the three towns of New Castle, North Castle & Mount Pleasant is on that property. Thomas and Mary Leggett also lived here at Phillipse Manor. They were Quakers. Abigail Lane. She was the widow of Mr. Cheeseman.__. Samuel made his will in 1803 at Mount Pleasant, Westchester County, New York. He notes himself as a farmer. He mentions his wife. Samuel departed this life on Friday, 14 October 1808 in Mount Pleasant, Westchester County, New York. His will was probated on 7 November 1808.
