     Jean-Baptiste was born on Friday, 7 May 1677 in la Durantaye, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. He was christened on 27 May 1677 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.1 A contract for the marriage of Jean-Baptiste and Marguerite Huard was signed on 8 June 1705. It was drawn up by notary, Mr. de Lacetiere. It notes Jean-Baptiste as the son of Francois Grenet & Marie Coudret - all residing at the Seigneurie de Lauzon. It also notes Marie-Anne as the daughter of Jean Huard & Marie-Anne Amiot - all residing at the Seigneurie de Lauzon.2 Jean-Baptiste & Marguerite had children: Jean Baptiste [4/02/1708-8/06/1775][m. 4/27/1746 Marie-Marthe Jean Viens], Marie Louise [8/05/1709-2/18/1770][m. 10/05/1744 Francois Jean Viens], Etienne [10/08/1710-11/11/1710] & Marguerite [11/25/1711-3/20/1783][m. 11/22/1746 Charles Labrecque].3 Jean-Baptiste departed this life on Saturday, 13 April 1715 in ville de Quebec at Hotel-Dieu at age 37 years, 11 months and 6 days.4 On the same day, he was buried there in the cemetery of Notre Dame.
