     Richard was born circa 1527 in Dorchestershire, England. M. Joan Convers, dau of William - will dated:1555.)1 Richard married Joan Convers, daughter of William Convers, in Stapleford Abbot, County Essex, England.2 His brother, Peter, died about 31 May 1583, leaving him the family estate at Bowridge. Richard made his will on 10 May 1606 at the family estate at Bowridge Hall, Gillingham Parish, Dorchestershire, England.

In the name of God, Amen: Anno Domini one thousand six hundred and six the tenth day of May in the year of fifteen of our Sovereign Lord James, by the grace of God of England, France & Ireland, king, defender of the faith . , I, Richard Greene, of Bowridgehill in the parish of Gillingham in the county of Dorchestershire, being sick in body but of good & perfect memory, God be thanked, revoking all other my former wills, do make & ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form folowing:
First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God & my body to be buried as ___ a christian.
Item - I give to the poor of Gillingham aforesaid five pounds to be paid unto those poor people that have most need of it by the discretion of mine executor's ___ & of mine executor ___ one month after my decease. Item - I give and bequeath unto my grandchild, Peter Greene, of Bowridgehill, my gold ring that was left unto me by my brother, Peter Greene [leaves other personal items to him] and forty shillings in money.
Item - I give and bequeath unto Richard Greene, my grandchild, that ___ of a Mr.___ five pounds that remainth in his ___ hands.
Item - I give and bequeath unto Robert Greene, my grandchild, the son of Richard, my son, five pounds that is one ___ at Michaelmas ___ by John Davidys of ___ . . .
Item - I give and bequeath unto John Greene, my grandchild, the son of Richard Greene, my son, five pounnds that is ___ by John Baker of ___ . . .shall be paid unto my son, Richard Greene, by the said John DAvidys and John Baker whom it shall be ___ to be employed to the benefit of his ___.
Item - I give and bequeath unto my son, Richard Greene, his five daughters to each one of them, one bed [bedroom furnishings] as father and mother shall think fit.
Item - I give and bequeath unto Joan Greene, the wife of Peter Greene aforesaid four pewter plates and four ___.
Item - I give and bequeath unto Richard Greene, my son, to be employed and ___ unto my daughter, Katherine Turner and her children of Pontefracks in ___ as my said son, Richard shal think fit
Item - I give and bequeath unto ___ . . .
Bearing date the 17th day of November in the 3rd year of the reign of our Sovereign King James together . . .
Item - I give and bequeath unto my said daughter-in-law, Mary Greene, the wife of my said son, Richard Greene [his best bedroom furnishings].
Item - All the rest of good and chattlels whatsoever moveable and unmoveable, not before given, nor bequeathed my debts paid and legacies performed, I give and bequeath unto my said son, Richard Greene, my son and heir apparent I ordain and make my full and whole executor of this my last will and testamet, appointing and requesting, that my good friends Jahn Baker and John Davidys, aforesaid to be overseers of the same and for the payment I trust to care of them twenty pence in witness whereof, I have set my hand and seal to ___ the day and year first above written.

Richard departed this life before 3 May 1608 in Gillingham Parish, Dorchestershire, England, at the family estate at Bowridge Hall. His will was probated on 3 May 1608.
