Nicolas was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 11 May 1666 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.1 Nicolas married Marie-Madeleine Payet on 27 July 1693 in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the church of St-Enfant-Jesus.2 Nicolas & Marie-Madeleine had children: Marie-Madeleine [8/17/1696-9/19/1779][m. 1/07/1715 Jean-Baptiste Coitou], Nicolas [1/06/1702-7/17/1771][m. 10/10/1724 Francoise Archambeault], Pierre [1/01/1704-4/01/1749][m. 2/07/1732 Marie-Marguerite Senecal], Joseph [8/02/1712][m. 1/17/1735 Francoise Chenier] & Jean-Baptiste [6/27/1715-5/24/1793][m. 10/12/1739 Marie-Anne Loiselle].3 Nicolas's wife, an unknown person , died on 22 May 1747 in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower.4 Nicolas departed this life on Tuesday, 7 April 1750 in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Enfant-Jesus on Thursday, 9 April 1750.3
