Noel Gelinas dit Lacourse

     Noel was born on Tuesday, 16 September 1755 in Yamachiche, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Michel Lacourse & Marie Noel. He was christened on the same day there in Ste-Anne Church.¹ He married first, on 11 January 1779, Marie Anne Commartin at St. Cuthbert. Noel married 2nd Marguerite Robillard dit Lambert, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Robillard dit Lambert and Marie-Agathe Coucis dit Lafleur, on 15 February 1790 in St-Cuthbert, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Cuthbert Church.² Noel and Marguerite had children: Elisabeth [11/10/1790][m. 8/31/1818 Antoine Guilbault], Pierre [3/18/1792], Marie Louise [10/15/793][m. 11/20/1820 Joseph Bonin], Julie Marie [5/07/1795][m. 1/17/1814 Louis Gervais], Francois [6/11/1796-8/15/1796], Claude [ 7/03/1797], Victoire [1/20/1799][m. 10/19/1818 Toussaint Lesieur dit Lapierre], Genevieve [3/12/1800][m. 1/25/1819 Basile Plante], Francois [7/08/1801-12/17/1806] & Pelagie 7/08/1803-4/23/1805. Noel departed this life on Saturday, 4 February 1804 in St-Cuthbert, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada, at age 48 years, 4 months and 19 days. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Cuthbert on Sunday, 5 February 1804.³
