Noel Gelinas dit Lacourse

     Noel was born in 1780 in St-Cuthbert, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada. On 15 February 1790, his father married 2nd to Marguerite Robillard. He was the son of Noel Lacourse & Marie-Anne Caumartin. Noel married Genevieve Martin dit Pelland, daughter of Ambroise Martin dit Pelland and Marie Josephte Dandonneau, on 25 October 1813 in Ste-Elisabeth, Joliette County, Quebec, Canada, at Ste-Elizabeth Church.¹ Noel & Genieve had children: Genieve [11/19/1814-1/17/1842][m. 9/10/1836 Narcisse Desrosiers], Ambroise [8/14/1818][m. 6/16/1856 Luce Pelland], Joseph [m. 2/04/1840 Rose Joly], Pierre [8/13/1820-4/25/1823], Hercule [8/24/1822], Elise [__-8/09/1887][m. 8/05/1845 Alexis Rainville], Pierre [2/28/1824-11/19/1862][m. 7/22/1845 Amable Forget/Latour & 2nd 1/10/1859 Celina Latour/Forget & 3rd 7/21/1862 Delima Coutu], Louise [8/20/1826], Rose [9/09/1828-12/08/1833], Josephte [8/14/1830][m. 1/23/1849 Alexis Charron/Ducharme], Louis Moyse [4/05/1833] & Alexis [6/05/1835-11/25/1846]. Noel's wife, an unknown person , died on 10 April 1861 in Ste-Elisabeth, Joliette County, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Noel departed this life on Monday, 13 October 1862 in Ste-Elisabeth at age 82 years. He was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Elizabeth.²
