Marie-Anne Gelinas dit Lacourse

     Marie-Anne was born in 1751 in Quebec, Canada. She is the of daughter of Alex Gelinas dit Lacourse & Marguerite Courchene. A contract for the marriage of Marie-Anne & Ignace Ayotte was signed on 2 February 1769. The notary Rigaud drew up the contract stating that he was 23 years and the son of Ignace Ayot and Marie Francoise Lecuyer. She was 21 years of age and the daughter of Alexis Gelina dit Lacourse and Marguerite Courchesne..¹ Ignace & Marie-Anne had children: Marie [6/21/1771-7/29/1771], Madeleine [12/10/1772-7/27/1834][m. 2/08/1796 Pierre Bruneau], Genevieve [12/15/1774-3/22/1784], Hyacinthe [5/23/1779-7/13/1858][m. 10/22/1798 Louise Martineau dit Stonge], Jean Baptiste [4/17/1782-7/28/1834][m. 10/03/1808 Marie Anne Ross], a child [9/14/1785--9/14/1785], Elisabeth [6/24/1787-10/261848][m. 10/12/1807 Jean Baptiste Moisan] & Francois 3/27/1792-7/11/1797.² Marie-Anne departed this life on Saturday, 18 November 1809 in Maskinonge, Quebec, Canada, at age 58 years.³ She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Joseph on Sunday, 19 November 1809.⁴
