     Adelaide was born on Tuesday, 14 January 1817 in Louiseville, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Jean Baptiste Gelinas & Catherine Genereux. She was christened there on 15 January 1817 in St-Antoine-de-Padau, Riviere-du-Loup Church.1 Adelaide married Norbert Sylvestre, son of Paul Cuthbert Sylvestre and Pélagie Ayotte, on 10 January 1843 in Upton, Yamaska County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Guillaume Church.2 Norbert and Adelaide had children: Francois Xavier [11/20/1844-12/15/1844], Jean Baptiste [12/12/1845][m. 7/20/1868 Philomene Desorcy], a child [still born 8/19/1848], Marie Agnes [6/15/1849-4/15/1851], Marie Emerentienne [ 2/15/1851-8/28/1855], Louis [12/03/1852][m. 4/28/1874 Doelia Quellette], Victor [1854][m. 12/28/1875 Caroline Lapolice], Marie Anne [4/10/1855][m. 1/07/1885 Onesime Cote], Joseph [1857-9/22/1859], Agnes [5/07/1859] & Adele Merenna [3/01/1861].3
