Captain George Geiselman
M, b. 27 January 1747, d. 10 March 1810
George was born on Friday, 27 January 1747 in York County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Johann Michael Geiselman & Margaretha Wilhelmina Frinsch.1 George was an attorney. He married in 1764, Hannah Jettin, and had a daughter, Anna Maria born 1 January 1765. Hannah past away shortly after, possibly of complications of child birth. George married 2nd Maria Salome Korffman, daughter of Johann Conrad Korffman and Anna Margaretha Scheffer, in 1767 at York County. George and Marie Solome had children: Johann Adam [8/28/1768], Maria Charlotta [5/19/1771-1805], Maria Margaretha [1772], Maria Eva [9/2/1776] & Barbara Spechert [12/31/1777-1/21/1857].2 During the Revolutionary War, George was the Captain of the York County Miltia. As an attorney, in 1785, he represented his brother-in-law Jacob Corfman, who was a co-administrator of his father, Conrad Corfman's, estate. George's wife, Maria, died in February 1778 in Shrewsbury Township leaving him a widower. George married again and had 4 more children. Her name is unknown. The 1800 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania, the family of.3 In January of 1800, Adams County was created from what had been part of York County. The 1810 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Germany Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, the family of George Gieselman [00001:01001]. Directly above George's entry is that of his son, Adam.4 George departed this life on Saturday, 10 March 1810 in Germany Township at age 63 years, 1 month and 11 days.
