Valentine Gebhart

     Valentine was born on Sunday, 7 November 1751 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He as the son of John George Philip Gebhart and Anna Margaretha Jeanne Massa. He was christened there on 10 November 1751 in Tulpehocken Township.¹ Valentine married Anna Catarina Haag, daughter of John George Haag and Anna Margaretha Bechtel, on 5 March 1776 in Rehreersburg, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Valentine and his brothers settled on land in Miamisburg. Ohio granted to thier father for his service in the Revoluntionary War. They were among 21 families that founded the settlement. The brothers also built a tavern which is now on the National Register of Hisrtorical Buildings. Valentine departed this life in 1810 in Washington Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.
