Christophe Gerbeau de Bellegarde

     Christophe was born circa 1 February 1638 in Saumur, Maine-et-Loire, Pays de la Loire, France. He was christened there on 1 February 1638 in St-Nicolas Church.1 A contract for the marriage of Christophe Gerbeau de Bellegarde & Marguerite Lemaitre was signed on 22 May 1676 at Sorel, St-Pierre-De Saurel, Quebec, Canada. It was noted in the Contract that the groom's parents were Melvin Gilbaud & Perrine Phillype and the bride's mother was Judith Rigaud. Her step father is also noted as Jean Laplanche, and that he was a master surgeon. The notary was Antoine Adhemar.2 Christophe and Marquerite had children: Francois [8/11/1677-], Marie Marguerite [7/16/1681-1/01/1748][m. 11/23/1699 Jean Guichard dit Lasonde], Marie Josephe [8/04/1687-8/28/1687], Pierre [8/28/1688-][m. 6/13/1717 Marie Anne Lamontagne dit Banliac], Madeleine [9/25/1690].
