John was born in 1687 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of John & Mary [Willets] Fry. John married Mary Urquhart, daughter of John Urquhart, in 1711 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He made his will the 4th day of the 1st month 1714/15 \
I John Fry of Oyster Bay, in Queens County, being sick & weak. I leave to my wife Mary, and to my daughter Mary, all my housing, lands and goods. "and in case the child that I suppose my wife is big with shall happen to be a son, then he shall have all my housing and land [except 102 acres of land which I have lying at a place called Adams swamp.]" And my wife and daughter are to have the said 102 acres: but if the child is a daughter, then the estate is to go to all three. If my wife and children should all die, then , my uncle, William Fry, shall have all my lands [except the 102 acres, and the land that I have adjoining to the land of Henry Scutter, and a town right in Oyster Bay]. And William Miller shall gave half of the 102 acres and John Wright, son of Gideon Wright, shall have the other half; and Zacharias Wright, son of Gidon Wright, shall have the land ajoining the land of Henry Scutter; and John Wright & William Miller shall have my undivided right of lands. I make my friends, Samuel Underhill and William Willis executors.

.3 John departed this life before 25 March 1715 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. His will was probated on 25 March 1715 at a special meeting of John Jackson, Esquire Judge of the Court of Common Pleas; William Cornell and Samuel Dickinson, Justices of the Peace.
