Sarah Fox

     Sarah was born on Thursday, 17 May 1855 in Berrien Township, Berrien County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Weirchell Fox & Victory. Sarah married Franklin Peter Bowerman, son of Peter Bowerman and Nancy Anna Shaffstall, on 23 March 1882 in Berrien Springs, Berrien County, Michigan.² Frank & Sarah had children: Harry J. [1/30/1883-7/06/1965][m. 10/04/1905 Clara Josephine Klebs], Althea Dora [9/11/1884-/6/12/1972][m. 5/02/1906 John Howard Baringer], Roscoe Mirl [10/08/1886][m. 1911 Emma Kramer] & Reita Faye [4/15/1897-8/04/1963][m. 12/12/1914 Owen Stephen Matchette]. 25 June 1900, Sarah and her husband, Peter, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Eau Claire, Berrien Township. Enumerated in this household were Peter Bownerman [Dec 1847 - 52 Ohio], his wife: Sarah [May 1855 - 45 Michigan], children: Harry [Jan 1883 -17 Michigan], Dora [Sep 1884 - 15 Michigan], Roscoe [Oct 1886 - 13 Michigan], & Retal [Apr 1897 - 3 Michigan]. They had been married 18 years with 4 children, all living. He was a stone mason.³ Sarah's husband, Frank, died on 17 May 1922 in Mishawaka, St. Joseph County, Indiana, leaving her a widow.⁴ Sarah departed this life on Monday, 13 January 1936 in Mishawaka at age 80 years, 7 months and 27 days. She was buried there in Mishawaka in the Fairview Cemetery.
