Thomas was born in 1589 in Dorchestershire, England. Thomas married Joane Way on 13 December 1610 in Powerstock, Dorchestershire, England, at St. Mary's Church.3 Thomas's wife, Joane, died before 10 May 1615 in Powerstock, leaving him a widower. He was a merchant of the Market town of Bridport. Thomas married Elizabeth Charde on 19 June 1616 in Bridport, Dorchestershire, England, at Holy Trinity Church.4 On 20 March 1630, Thomas left from Plymouth, Devonshire aboard the ship, "Mary and John", charted by Captain Squeb, bound for New England. Listed among the passengers were Thomas Ford, 41 years, his wife Elizabeth, 43 years, his children: Mary 18 years, Joan 13 years, Abigail, 11 years 7, Hepzibah 5 years and Aaron Cook 17 years. They arrived at Nantasket harbor, after a 70 day voyage, on the 30th of May.. Thomas's wife, Elizabeth, died on 18 April 1643 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower.4 Thomas married 2nd Anna (?) on 7 November 1644 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Thomas's wife, Anna, died on 5 May 1675 in Hartford leaving him a widower. Thomas departed this life on Saturday, 28 November 1676 in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.
