Joseph Jeremie Fontaine dit Marion

     Joseph Jeremie was born on Monday, 20 December 1751 in St-Nicolas, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Joseph Lafontaine dit Marion and Marie Marguerite Dubois. He was christened there on 21 December 1751 in St-Nicolas Church.¹ Joseph married Marie Josephe Huet dit St Godard, daughter of Pierre Huet dit St Godard and Catherine-Angelique Geoffroy, on 14 November 1774 in Lanoraie, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Joseph Church.² Joseph and Marie Josephe had children: Joseph Jeremie [2/20/1776-11/25/1838][m. 5/13/1805 Marie Josephe Glinel], Marie Josephe [9/29/1777-1/23/1778], Marie Anne [2/01/1779-8/02/1783], Marie Josephe [11/13/1780-10/04/1812][m. 10/15/1804 Pierre Perron], Marie Esther [9/22/1782-3/12/1847][m. 4/23/1804 Joseph Arel dit Despointes], Bernard [9/16/1784-1/26/1836][m. 8/01/1808 Apolline Michon], Marie Anne [9/19/1786-9/01/1787], Francois [2/24/1788-10/13/1790], Cecile Marie [3/13/1790-2/07/1837][m. 10/04/1814 Francois Chartrand], Cyriac [11/21/1793][m. 6/02/1817 Therese Chartrand], Jean Baptiste [12/26/1794-8/01/1795].³ Joseph departed this life on Monday, 21 July 1794 in Ste-Therese, Terrebonne County, Quebec, Canada, at age 42 years, 7 months and 1 day. He was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Therese on Wednesday, 23 July 1794.⁴
