     Nathaniel was born in 1592 in either London, County Middlesex, England, or.1 When he was 16 years old, he was apprenticed to Samuel Croyle of Cholechester, grocer.2,3 Nathaniel married Elizabeth Deming, daughter of Jonathan Deming and Elizabeth Gilbert, circa 1617 in County Essex, England, at the parish of Shalford. Elizabeth was a sister of John Deming of Wethersfield, Connecticut. In 1633, Nathaniel and his wife, Elizabeth, immigrated aboard the ship. Mr. Foote came from Shalford, in Colchester, Eng., and settled in Watertown, Massachusetts. The first mention found made of his name is in the Records of the Colony of Massachusetts Bay, in 1633, when he took the oath of freeman. In the "Records of the Grants and Possession of the Lands in Watertown," (in which town Mr. Foote first located himself.4 Nathaniel died intestate in 1644 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. The inventory of Nathaniel's estate was taken on Sunday, 20 November 1644. By Richard Treat, Nathaniel Dickinson, Samuel Smith. The value of his personal estate was totaled at 380.17.0. This was not his real estate. A debt was claimed against his estate for 1.10.0.5
