William de Ferrers 5th Earl of Derby

M, b. circa 1193, d. 24 March 1254
     William de was born circa 1193 in Tutbury, Staffordshire, England. He was the son of William Ferrers, 4th Earl of Derby, of Tutbury.1 William married 2nd Margaret Quincey, daughter of Roger de Quincey 2nd Earl of Winchester and Ellen de Galloway, circa 1238 in England.1 William and Margaret had children: Robert [1239-4/27/1279] [m. 7/26/1249 Mary De Lusignan], William [circa 1240-12/20/1287] [m. Anne le Despenser, m. 2 2/18/1290 Eleanor de Lovaine] & Joan [1242- 3/19/1310] [m. 1267 Thomas de Berkeley].1 William died on Tuesday, 24 March 1254 in Evington, Leicestershire, England, after an accident where he was thrown from his chariot while crossing a bridge. He broke bones in his limbs and did not recover. Eveington is near Leicester.1 He was buried at Wiltshire, England, in Merevale Abbey.1
