William de Ferrers 5th Earl of Derby1,2

M, b. 1193, d. 24 March 1254
     William de was born in 1193 in Derbyshire, England. He was the son of William de Ferrers, 4th Earl of Derby and Agnes the daughter of Hugh, Earl of Chester. William married Sybilla Marshall, daughter of William Marshall 4th Earl of Pembroke. and Isabel Fitz Gilbert de Clare, before 14 May 1219.3 William married 2nd Margaret de Quincy in 1238. William inherited gout from his father and from his youth suffered from it greatly. Because of the afliction, William by necessity, was transported by way of a litter. Unfortunately, while crossing a bridge, William was accidently thrown from the litter and received several broken bones. He was never able to recover from the injuries. William departed this life on Tuesday, 24 March 1254 in Evington, Leicestershire, England.
