Catharine Fast

     Catharine was born on Monday, 17 April 1786 near Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jacob Fast & Catherine Rudicell. Catharine married Abraham Beery, son of Nicholas Beery II and Mary Elizabeth Keller, on 7 March 1802 in Rockingham County, Virginia. Abraham & Catharine had children: Judith Lila [8/02/1804-9/04/1881][m. Joel Shaeffer], Elizabeth [11/28/1805-]; Sarah [8/02/1807], Catharine "Kate" [2/26/1809-10/24/1892][m. Joseph Benjamin Schwartz], Joel [10/10/1810-8/28/1886][m. 11/111832 Sarah Huddle], Mary [8/25/1812-2/26/1875][m. George Henry Swartz], Barbara [7/18/1814-5/26/1864][m. Daniel Huddle], Rebecca [2/21/1816-2/25/1911][ m. John Turner & 2nd John Shumaker], Frances [2/24/1818-9/01/1885][ m. Emanuel Sites], Delilah [2/13/1820-1885][m. Samuel Bair], Abraham J. [10/24/18214/29/1908] [m. Elizabeth Weldy & 2nd Harriet Olive Coffman] & a Son [died in infancy]. Catharine's husband, Abraham, died on 15 June 1845 in Rush Creek Township leaving her a widow. Catharine departed this life on Sunday, 2 January 1870 in Rush Creek Township at age 83 years, 8 months and 16 days. She was buried there in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
