Josiah was born on Monday, 20 August 1629 in Cambridgeshire, England.1 Josiah married Elizabeth Holcomb, daughter of Thomas Holcomb and Eliabeth (?), on 16 November 1654 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.2,1 Josiah & Elizabeth had children: Josiah [11/05/1655-5/04/1676] [m. 10/30/1679 Martha Gaylord], Elizabeth [11/11/1657-9/20/1733] [m.12/23/1680 Nathaniel Loomis], Mary [5/07/1660-1713] [m. 12/23/1680 Daniel Loomis], Martha [12/07/1662-1715] [m. 1690 John Osborn], Thomas [9/02/1665-9/26/1750] [m. 1690 Sarah Mills & 2nd. 1713 Deborah], Jonathan [6/28/1669-9/13/1749] [m. 10/26/1693 Sarah Grant], John [10/07/1671-10/26/1720] [m. 12/29/1691 Esther White], Job [4/13/1674-9/29/1751 [m. 12/19/1695 Mary Trumbull & 2nd. 10/25/1711 Sarah Warner] & Benjamin [1/19/1676-4/14/1690].2 Josiah made his will on 11 August 1689.
He bequeaths to his wife . . . he bequeaths to his daughter, Martha when married. He bequeaths to his eldest son Josiah and to his younger sons Thomas, Jonathan, John, Jobe and Benjamin. He also bequeaths to his married daughters Elizabeth, her husband, Nathaniel Loomis, and to Mary, her husband, Daniel Loomis.
Josiah departed this life on Saturday, 20 August 1689 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.2,1 The inventory of Josiah's estate was taken on Monday, 17 October 1689 by Abraham Phelps and Benajah Holcomb. The appraised the estate to be valued at £655 17s. Presented to the court on 7 November 1689.3
