Thomas Doyon

     Thomas was born on Sunday, 31 August 1664 in Chateau-Richer, Montmorency County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Jean Doyon & Marie-Marthe Gagnon. He was christened on the same day there in the church of La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame.¹ Thomas married Barbe Trepagny, daughter of Romain Trepagny and Genevieve Drouin, on 28 January 1692 in Chateau-Richer at the church of La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame.² Thomas and Barbe had children: Genevieve [2/04/1693-4/24/1778][ m. 10/24/1716 Francois Belanger & 2nd 1/11/1734 Jean-Baptiste Gravel], Marie-Francois [1/04/1695-12/12/1708], Thomas [11/17/1696-2/09/1703], Nicolas [11/05/1698-3/19/1760][m. 1/30/1749 Marie-Louise Corbin], Marie-Anne [9/05/1700-1/19/1768][m. 6/01/1722 Jacques Bedard], Marie Catherine [10/17/1702-2/01/1703], Genevieve [3/__/1705-6/30/1705], Jean-Baptiste [2/07/1706], Claude [11/10/1708-12/22/1708], Marie-Therese [9/14/1710-9/29/1710].³ Thomas's wife, Barbe, died on 20 February 1711 in Beauport, ville de Quebec leaving him a widower. He married second on 25 May 1714, Angelique Renaut. Thomas departed this life on Tuesday, 5 May 1739 in ville de Quebec at Hotel-Dieu. He was buried there in the cemetery of the Hotel-Dieu on Wednesday, 6 May 1739.⁴
