     Catherine was born on Thursday, 3 March 1791 in New York. Catherine married John King, son of Jonathan King and Mary Vail, in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York. Catherine married John Greenleaf on 10 May 1820 in New York. John was first married 1 March 1798 to Martha Tooker who was born 7 October 1777 & died 14 April 1819. John brought to this marriage seven children. Children: Keturah [3/08/1799], Mary [8/05/1800], Gabriel Reeve [6/22/1802-8/31/1837], Emiline [9/1805], John Harvey [4/22/1807-8/24/1831], Daniel Tooker [2/11/1809] & Louisa [8/20/1811]. 6 September 1850, Catherine and her husband, John, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Mount Hope Town, Orange County, New York. Enumerated in this household were John Greenleaf [76 New York], his wife: Catherine [59 New York], children: Adeline [23 New York], Cordelia [17 New York], & Charlotte [15 New York].3 25 August 1870, the U.S. Federal Census listed Catherine living in the home of her son at Iosco Township, Livingston County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Horace Mapes [38 New York], his wife: Mary J. [35 Michigan], children: Willie H. [15 Michigan], Alice J. [14 Michigan], farm laborer: George Hudson [24 England], father, Samuel Mapes [60 New York], mother: Mary J. [57 New York], grandmother: Catherine Greenleaf [79 New York][retired].4 Catherine died on Saturday, 21 July 1877 in Iosco Township, Livingston County, Michigan, of old age. She had been living with her daughter, Mary Jane & Samuel Addison Mapes.5 She was buried at Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan, in the Plainfield Village Cemetery. She is buried with her daughter Mary Jane's family.6,7
